He writes about the Hemispheric Peace Conference to end the U.S. war in Vietnam which was going to be held in Montreal, Canada. Augusto Roa Bastos won the Cervantes Prize in 1989 and is considered the most important author in his country and one of the most prominent in Latin American literature.
