Sculpted ivory box. Possibly from Ceylon. 17th – 18th century. - The lid is based on metal, and the sculpted ivory depicts a scene of men wearing morning suits in a tavern and a woman. On the back is what appears to be an allegorical scene. The entire box is completely sculpted in ivory, in some zones there is fretwork, and in others there are appliqué ivory figures, which give depth to the decoration. 9,5 x 5 cm
