”Pava or Pavo Hornillo” (mate kettle). Hammered silver figure, cast, embossed and chased. Upper Peru. Colonial. 19th century. - 28,5 x 36 x 23 cm. Weight: 2.750 g. With a spherical form, the spout in the shape of a bird´s beak, it rests on three feet in the shape of claws which each clasp a ball. It has a large handle decorated with two caryatids. This was a typical domestic utensil used to heat water and prepare mate.
