Colonial. 18th century. - From the 17th century, a huge number of objects related to the consumption of yerba mate were made in precious metals in Viceroyalty Latin America: Kettles, burners, recipients for drinking mate, sugar bowls etc. These lovely pieces in precious metals were in demand from high society families, who wanted to own the type of luxury objects which were originally designed for viceroys or senior officials. The gourd for the mate began to be covered in silver and also the necessary utensils for making mate were made in silver: stoves, kettles, sugar bowls, mate containers, spoons etc. 13,5 x 13 x 13 cm.
