“Madonna and Child”. Carved, polychromed and gilded wooden sculpture. Colonial School. Early 17th century. - The Virgin has an unusual headdress which frames and highlights her beautiful face with its delicate carnations. She is standing in a vertical position with her right leg slightly forward, holding the Christ Child in her left hand. The Child gives blessing with the right hand and holds an orb in the left. Height 37,5 cm.
