”Saint Sebastian”. Carved and polychromed wooden sculpture. Germany. Gothic. 15th century. - The saint is depicted, as is customary, at the scene of his martyrdom, tied to a tree, wearing only a cloth and with the wounds of the arrows he has been shot with, although these are not preserved. Young, muscular and handsome, with delicately sculpted hair which falls to both sides, framing the face. The mastery of the treatment of the body and the marvellous folds in the cloth is outstanding. The face and the expression that the sculptor captures are especially interesting. 111 x 40 x 18 cm.
