Silver Tankard from the Famous Workshop of Lazarus Posen. Frankfurt a.M., ca. 1900
The workshop named after Lazarus Posen was considered in the 19th century to be the glory of the Judaica industry.
Founded in 1869 in the city of Frankfurt, Germany, and later managed by the widow of Lazarus Posen. In the 1880's, Lazurus' son Jacob joined the famous workshop.
This silver tankard, intended for drinking wine and beer, was designed and manufactured by the Posen workshop. The most dominant design motif is the repousse heart, rows of which adorn the lid and body. Engraved decorations - vases, flowers and fruits – further enhance the mug's surface.
16 cm (height), 115 cm (width). 318 gr. Marked.
