Gold and enamel plaque depicting a battle, Germany 18th century
The model for this plaque is the gold and translucent enamel cameo made in 1561 and now preserved at the Bibliothéque National de France; the French artifact has been attributed by Bertrand Jestaz to the French enameler Simon Gaudin.
