Writer's "Vánitas" dedicated to Federico García Lorca, signed and dedicated by José Gutiérrez-Solana (Madrid, 1886 - ib., 1945)
The composition before which we find ourselves follows the models of the "Vánitas" popularized by the Flemish masters from the end of the 13th century until the end of the Baroque in the 18th century and which spread throughout Europe symbolizing the transience of life. The composition before which we find ourselves represents a so-called "Vánitas de Escritor" signed and dedicated to Federico García Lorca (Fuente Vaqueros, Granada, June 5, 1898 - road from Víznar to Alfacar, Granada, August 18, 1936) is observed a writer's skull with its characteristic hat and, on a book, it is flanked by a pipe, a cane and gloves. Oil on canvas, canvas measures: 54 x 37 cm. Framed measurements: 80 x 64 cm
