תגיות:

Massive Divine Shepherdess with important Spanish Baroque frame of the period, Bernardo Llorente Germán (1680-1759), 18th century Spanish school
Oil on canvas. Measurements: 202 x 164 cm, framed measurements: 245 x 191 cm. (Seville, 1680-1759). Spanish painter. Trained in Seville alongside Cristóbal López, his work is part of a Murillo movement that in the last years of the 17th century and the first decades of the 18th continued to interpret and draw on the Andalusian master. Llorente's painting preserved in the Prado, La Divina Pastora, reveals such influences. In the inventories of 1814, this work was attributed to Bartolomé Esteban Murillo despite the very evident differences in quality. He is part of a current of devotion that made fortune in this period in the Andalusian capital, which contributed to making this iconography fashionable and spread throughout Spain. Llorente portrayed the Infante Don Felipe taking advantage of Philip V's stay in Seville, assuming the influence of the French court portraitist Jean Ranc. His famous trompe-l'oeil works stand out, for example, those preserved in the Musée du Louvre, a genre that experienced considerable development in Andalusia at this time. Private collection, Andalusia.
