This oil on canvas depicts St. Chrysostom, a 4th-century church father known for his eloquence. The work belongs to the 17th-century Roman school, attributed to the workshop of Orazio Borgianni. In the painting, the saint appears in a contemplative attitude, dressed in liturgical vestments decorated with gilded crosses, in an environment evoking his study, surrounded by ancient books. The use of light and shadow, as well as the detailed work on the folds of the vestments, reflect the influence of Caravaggio on Borgianni's work. The dimensions of the canvas are 72 x 65 cm.
