18th Century Italian School - Fishermen in the Bay of Naples
Oil on panel. Dimensions: 42 x 36 cm. A costumbrista scene depicting a group of fishermen in full activity, in a marine environment that suggests the vicinity of the Bay of Naples. The composition stands out for its use of colour and the luminosity of the landscape, in a style that suggests Venetian influences, with atmospheric details and a sense of depth in the boats and figures. The work is framed in a textured black moulding.
