The only edition of the book (with the subtitle "The Second Book of poems") was carried out by the publishing house "Scorpion" in 1912. A 1911 manuscript has been preserved, containing many discrepancies with the published result. In the manuscript, the entire book was dedicated to Vsevolod Knyazev. The cover for the collection was designed by S. Yu. Sudeikin.
The collection consists of three parts, and the third includes the cycle "Spiritual Poems", which were created as works for music in 1901-1903 and published in 1912 with sheet music as an album.
According to N. A. Bogomolov, the second book of poems cemented Kuzmin's "reputation as a master who is fluent in all verse forms (from verlibra to complex strophic constructions and imitations of ancient verse) and masterfully, with complete intonation freedom, combines various layers of poetic language — from exquisitely gallant to common people".
