Switzerland, Alps, March 3, 1955. - 1 photo. Size 24 x 18 cm. Without significant defects.

Sud-Ouest S. O. 1221 Djinn is a light two-seat helicopter with a jet (compressor) main rotor drive. It was developed and produced by the French company Sud-Ouest (later Sud Aviation) from 1954 to the mid-1960s. The only currently mass-built jet helicopter.

[The picture shows the events of March 3, 1955, when the third prototype of the SNCASO S. O. 1221 Djinn F-WGVY under the control of French pilot Jean Dabos reached a record altitude of 13,500 feet. The prototype arrived in Switzerland with a group of technicians to perform high-altitude test flights and made several takeoffs and landings.

Among the eyewitnesses was the famous Swiss Colonel Willy Frey.]
