Enthusiastic Letter of Recommendation by Maran Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski of Vilna

Enthusiastic letter of recommendation by Maran Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski, about the Gaon Rav Rabbi Nachman Sachs of Telz, the son-in-law of the Gaon Rav Rabbi Zalman Moshe Yoffe. Not dated.

Lengthy, handwritten letter, apparently by his confidante Rabbi Yosef Shuv. On the lower part of the letter, the handwritten signature and stamp of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer.

In the letter it is written that Rabbi Sachs was born in Telz and studied as a youth at Ohalei Shem in Vilna, was knowledgeable in Shas and Poskim and recently became Rav of one of the communities. During World War I, he became a Rav in Russia yet due to the terrible persecutions of rabbis, was forced to escape to the Holy Land.

Rabbi Chaim Ozer notes that he knows him as an excellent and great Rav and now, in Eretz Yisroel, he should be appointed Rav.
