הגאון רבי מיכל פיינשטיין ראש כולל בית יהודה, בן אחיו של מרן הגאון רבי משה פיינשטיין. נחשב לעילוי בישיבתו של מרן הגאון רבי איסר זלמן מלצר. למד גם אצל חמיו לעתיד מרן הרב מבריסק וכן אצל מרן הגאון רבי שמעון שקאפ. בווילנה קנה תורה מפי גאון הדור מרן רבי חיים עוזר גראדזינסקי. אחר השואה, נשא את מרת ליפשא בת מרן הרב מבריסק, שהייתה ידועה בחריפותה.
נשיא ישיבת פוניבז' הרב אברהם כהנמן [תרע"ג-תשס"ט] בנו יחידו של מרן גאב"ד פוניבז' רבי יוסף שלמה כהנמן. סייע לאביו בהקמת הישיבה המפורסמת בבני ברק. אחר פטירת אביו נתמנה לנשיא הישיבה ויתר מפעליה.
