Rare lines hand written typical of the Gaon Rabbi Michael Yehuda Lefkovitz, 'Avi HaYeshivot' and one of the leaders of the latest generation.

In a wavy and broken handwriting, in Biblical language, and in between bringing sources of Rishonim and Acharonim and Scholars of Ethics, the Gaon Rabbi Michael Yehuda impresses from his pure heart, ideas and teachings to be heard by all, in closed conferences or public gatherings.
Sometimes he wrote a sentence or two in the Yiddish language.

The Gaon Rabbi Michael Yehuda Lefkovitz [1913-2011] called in short הגרמי"ל ליפקוביץ was Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovezh for juniors, member of Moetzes Gedolai HaTorah of Degel HaTorah and public leader of Lithuanian. During his life he was so-called many times by the title 'Glory of the generation' or 'Father of the Yeshivot'.
Born in Valozhyn and traveled to learn in Yeshivat Ramailis by the Rosh Yeshiva the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Heiman, whom he considered his Rabbi. Later he published his Rabbi's lessons in the sefer "Chidushei Rabbi Shlomo".
In the year 1936 he emigrated with his family to Israel and started learning in the Yeshivat Chevron in Jerusalem there he became close with Rosh Yeshiva's the Geonim Rabbi Yechezkel Sarno, Rabbi Aharon Kohen and especialy the Mashgiach the righteous Gaon Rabbi Leib Chasman. He also became very close to the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalmen Meltzer, he joined his lessons in Seder Kodshim and even set a weekly time to learn with him.With time he also became close to the Gaon the "Chazon Ish" and was considered from his important disciples. Upon the advice of the Chazon Ish he got engaged and married Chava Esther Gershenovitz daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yitzchok Rosh Yeshivat Tiferet Tzion, right after his marriage he he became a R"am in the Yeshiva. Among his students,are great men of the generation and Roshei Yeshivot, the Geonim Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, Rabbi Meir Tzvi Bergman, Rabbi Dov Tzvi Carlenstein and many more.
It is related that many times the Chazon Ish listened to his lessons and reveled and praised them immeasurably.
At the beginning of the year 1950 when the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kehaneman founded the Yeshivat Ponovezh for juniors, he selected Rabbi Michael Yehuda to stand at the head, together with the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinmen. Hgrmi"l Lefkovitz gave over there his lessons during 60 years and raised thousands of students, among many, Roshei Yeshivot and famous Torah scholars.
About hundred thousand people participated at his huge funeral in Bnei Brak.
