The Satmar Rebbi wrote a letter about the Western Wall when the Zionists captured it from the Arabs. Many ultra-Orthodox Jews were excited to be able to go to the Western Wall, but the Satmar Rebbi urged them not to rejoice in the Zionists' victory. He believed that going to the Western Wall would give strength to the Zionists and that one should not go until the coming of Moshiach. His opinion caused controversy among the ultra-Orthodox community in the US. The Satmar Rebbi's words were written in the book "Al Hageula Val Hatemura", where he explained his opinion on the matter. In the letter, he also mentioned that the book was still being edited by his students. The Satmar Rebbi concluded his letter with a blessing for Hashem to have mercy on his people Yisroel and to remove them from the darkness of the terrible exile. The letter was addressed to Rabbi Meir Amsel, the late publisher of the magazine "HaMaor" in the USA.
