הוועד הכללי כנסת ישראל - היה ארגון שריכז תחתיו את מרבית הקהילות האשכנזיות בירושלים של היישוב הישן. מטרתו היתה לדאוג לתמיכה בעניים, לחינוך, לתלמוד תורה ועוד. בראשיתו נוסד הוועד בתמיכתם של רבי שמואל סלנט, רבי מאיר אויערבך ועוד מחכמי ירושלים. במשך השנים הוא ידע טלטלות שונות, פיצולים ואיחודים, אך בפועל היה לו חלק רב בצמיחתו של היישוב הישן האשכנזי במאה ה-19.
