Feldpost Postcard of the SS-Totenkopf-Reiter-Standarte
Postcard from SS-Totenkopf-Reiter-Standarte 1 / SS-Kavallerie-Regiment 1 Feldpost sent in 1940. Postcard has a photo of an obelisk in Lublin. It has a very clear and nice ink stamp of the SS-Totenkopf-Reiterstandarte.The SS-Totenkopf-Reiter-Standarte 1 was formed in Warsaw in May 1940 from parts of SS-Totenkopf-Reiter-Standarte. It took part in fighting both the resistance and remaining Polish soldiers as well as in actions against Jews. It was redesignated and sent 300 soldier to new camp KL Auschwitz and some of soldier of SS-Kavallerie-Regiment 1 February 1941 was assigned to Kommandostab RFSS. It was used to form SS-Kavallerie-Brigade in August 1941.
