Provenienz:
französische Privatsammlung, Paris.
Lowre genannter Gongschlegel eines Wahrsagers. Der Griff ist mit einem Ahnenkopf versehen und das halbmondförmige Schlagteil ist mit zwei Vogelköpfen verziert.
Um bei Orakelzeremonien in Verbindung mit der „anderen“ (spirituellen) Welt zu treten, schlugen die Wahrsager im Trance-Zustand den Holzhammer auf einen Eisengong, um so die Aufmerksamkeit der Ahnen und Geister zu wecken.
