Our September uncurated auction includes more than 400 lots of artwork, decorative items, furniture, rugs, jewelry, pottery, glass and more. Among the highlights are a selection of Amish quilts, a collection of vintage Matchbox cars, and comic books including the first Silver Age appearance of Captain America. The sale also features a collection of pottery including Rookwood, Fulper, George Ohr and Van Briggle, as well as a selection of Steuben Aurene and Tiffany Favrile glass. Other highlights include a Tiffany & Co. 14k moonstone ring, coins, two Pedro Friedeberg silkscreens, James McNeill Whistler etchings, baseball cards, a Herman Miller Aeron chair, and a collection of vintage hatpins.


Throughout the sale are items from the estate of Maurice Binder, including a Roy Lichtenstein Aspen Jazz poster and a mixed media piece by Channing Peake . Born in 1918, Maurice Binder was an American film title designer, best known for his work on 14 James Bond films, including Dr. No. He died in 1991 at the age of 72.

Italian Renaissance Revival style Savonarola chair. 19th century. Heavily carved x-form legs and stretcher with lion and griffin motifs. Wear throughout wood of chair. Splits to wood on carved lion heads of arms. Heavy marks and scratches to turned sections of stretcher. Splits to wood on carving directly below front of seat. Chips to wood on curved back rails of chair. Staining to upholstery of seating.
