Large Ketubah.Vidin [Bulgaria], 1874
Specifications: [1] large paper leaf, 56x79 cm. Decoratively cut at the top from right and left.
Unique Features: The ketubah was written in oriental scribal handwriting, in two columns of text inside a decorative border. The main part of the ketubah appears on the right. The tenaim are on the top left. The same witnesses signed both sides. A list of the dowry is on the bottom left, in the paragraph beginning "lista." At two angles, from right and left, above the text, are blessings for the bride and groom. The decorations and blessings were written in pleasant scribal writing. On the top part of the leaf is a star of David, integrated with kabbalistic abbreviations.
Condition: Fine. Aging stains, folding marks.
