[6] XIV [1] 112 pages. 23 cm. First edition of this collection of midrashim on Megillat Esther, arranged by R' Shlomo Buber, researcher and noted editor of midrashic works. Additional title pages in Russian and German, half-title for each midrash. Pedigreed copy: R' Shlomo Buber gifted this copy to Rabbi Ezriel Hildesheimer, and Rabbi Ezriel wrote on the title page [in Hebrew]: "Gift from the rabbi author, Hk' Ezriel Hildesheimer." With stamps of the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin.
Rabbi Ezriel Hildesheimer (1820-1899) was a leader of Orthodox Jewry in Germany in the 19th century and founder of the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin.
