The leaves of the book bear a number of stamps from Rabbi Yisrael Shapiro of Grodzisk. 
Rabbi Yisrael Shapiro of Grodzisk (1874-1942) was orphaned in his youth and was raised by his two grandfathers, the Admors of Grodzisk and Bohush. In 1892, after the death of his grandfather, he was appointment Admor of Grodzisk - when he was 18 years old. During the First World War, he moved to Warsaw where he led a large chassidic court until his death in 1942 at Treblinka. His Torah thoughts were printed in Emunat Yisrael.
