Fundamental Book: Shev Ya'akov. First Edition. Pedigree Copy. Signatures and Glosses

Shu"t Shev Ya'akov. One of the most important books of responsa. Responsa by the renowned gaon Rabbi Ya'akov Poppers,  av beit din of Frankfurt. Frankfurt am Main, 1742. Two parts bound together with separate title pages.

All along the sefer's leaves are several handwritten scholarly glosses. One of the glosses opens with the words "ואני הד"ך" and another is signed "הד"ך" - apparently the writer is the gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi David HaKohen Skali, author of Kiryat Channah David, who signs his name in this way in his books, "ואני הד"ך" - ה'צעיר ד'וד כ'הן. There are also notations and signatures by several writers.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the author, Rabbi Ya'akov Poppers and the book's previous owner, Rabbi David HaKohen Skali.

Stefansky, Sifrei Yessod 308.
