Lechem Shamayim, Part I, commentary on the mishnah for the orders of Zera'im and Mo'ed by Rabbi Ya'akov Emden - the Ya'avetz. Wandsbek, 1733. First edition. Pedigree copy.

With the compilation Binyan Bait HaBechirah al HaRamba"m on the halachahs of the Holy Temple. On the back of the title page is "Tavnit HaMizbeiach L'Kol Mishpato, " a large diagram of the alter with explanations.

The chronogram of the print year detail works out to 1728, however, a ה must be added, as appears from the date on the approbation.
This first book by the Ya'avetz was printed in Wandsbek before the author printed his books at the press he founded in Altona. Rare book.

There are several handwritten glosses along the book's leaves by Rabbi Segri, one of the leading rabbis of Italy. The glosses are signed אס"י, as he would customarily sign. Owner's signatures: Avraham Segri and Eliezer HaLevi, brother of the author of Kol Ben Levi - printed in Constantinople in 1727.
