Collection of Over a Hundred Slides, Photographs by David Rubinger from the 1973 War, Battle Photographs and More. 1980s
Photographs from Sidon, from the battles in Beirut, of Bashir Gemayel and of his funeral, the press conference after the bombing of the reactor in Iraq, and more. There are also some slides from the Sinai front during the Yom Kippur War included (difficult to view photographs).
David Rubinger (1924-2017) was an Israeli photojournalist, winner of the Israel Prize for media in 1997.
Rubinger took about half a million pictures over the course of his lifetime, and Alex Libek wrote about him that he became the "State Photographer." In a certain sense, he was David Ben-Gurion's "house photographer." Teddy Kollek, former mayor of Jerusalem said about Rubinger: "It's hard to express in words the feeling that you get from David Rubinger's pictures, if there's a feeling that does not loosen its grip on you with words, it is the insufficiency of words. To tell the story of Israel as these photographers do would take entire volumes, and they would still miss the target."
