CYPRIOT TERRACOTTA ZOOMORPHIC ASKOS
Ca. 1050 - 900 BC. A stylised terracotta askos in the form of a quadruped with a ribbed cylindrical body and four rounded legs. The snout serves as the front spout, while a second, raised spout emerges from the back. A ring handle is positioned on top of the back.For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1898,1201.160.Size: 140mm x 95mm; Weight: 200gProvenance: Private London collection; formerly in South German private collection 1980s-early1990s.
